Inspiration
Geralyn knew from a young age that she wanted to be a therapist. As a child, she often longed for someone to talk to—and that desire to be that person for someone else never left her. Therapy, for her, is about offering the kind of presence and support she once needed herself.
Perspective
Geralyn finds deep meaning in witnessing her clients’ growth over time. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is reflecting back to clients how far they’ve come—celebrating their resilience and recognizing the shifts they’ve made.
Core values
As a social worker, Geralyn holds deep respect for the dignity and worth of every person. With this in mind, she creates space for clients to share their stories without fear of judgment, and to feel truly seen and heard.
How Geralyn finds balance.
Over time, I’ve become much more intentional about setting boundaries and prioritizing things outside of work that bring me joy and fulfillment, such as spending quality time with loved ones, nurturing my faith, and taking care of my physical and mental health. I’ve learned that self-care is not just a catchphrase; it’s essential to being able to show up as my best self both personally and professionally. Whether it’s setting aside time for exercise, mindfulness, or hobbies that allow me to disconnect from the intensity of work, I now make sure to incorporate practices that support my own well-being.
This balance not only makes me a healthier and more centered person, but it also enhances my ability to be fully present and engaged when I’m working with clients. When I take care of myself, I can bring more energy, compassion, and creativity into my practice.
